General Information for Job Recruiters

Hello, and thanks for your interest!

I get many vague requests almost daily from job recruiters "to talk"... Sorry, I generally have no time for that – unless there is a very specific, concrete job that I'm interested in, and actually applying to.

But this information page, plus my resume (link below), should answer every conceivable question!

IMPORTANT: What is the industry? Who is the client (if applicable) and what is their mission? If you left out this vital element, please state it clearly.
"Leaving out the industry" = "treating job seekers as robots, who don't care what they're working towards"! Please don't do that.

My answers to common questions

  • RESUME: Version 1 (emphasizing Social Media Content Manager ) OR Version 2 (UX Design) If you need it in PDF or Word form, I can provide them.

  • Work status: U.S. Citizen

  • Availability: Immediate

  • Location: Only interested in 100% remote (very experienced in that, even pre-Covid.) A monthly visit or two, with paid commute cost and time, would be acceptable if the company is in the San Francisco area – latest Covid variants permitting.

  • Time zone: PST / CST

  • Industry: My home industry is Technology / Beauty / Fine Art / Non Profit

  • 1099 or W-2 ? I prefer a W-2

  • Salary/Rate: Not written in stone, but typically $60+/hr (120k/yr full-time equivalent); anything from about $45/hr will be considered if the job is especially interesting and/or beneficial to humanity.
    Yes, medical benefits expected

  • Job Title: Does the job title have the word "Senior" in it? (Or something like CTO, VP of Engineering, Head, etc.) Have you fully reviewed my resume? (link above.) If it's a fairly junior role, it'll be a waste of everyone's time.

  • Jobs Sought: I am "Big Picture kind of person." That's why I often work in research (with a development component), and was CTO twice in the past, as well as past startup founder. The overall mission matters to me far more than the actual specific job.
Please DO NOT OVER-RELY ON KEYWORDS MATCHING, or the "knows X, Y, Z"! A sophisticated recruiter understands what the candidate is really about; please review my resume (link above.)
I typically work as a CTO, or Senior Engineer in Graph Databases or in Data Science or in Machine Learning. Or as Science/IT Liaison.
I do NOT work as a "developer"/senior software engineer – though I have a lots of background in that field, as well.

  • What would an ideal role look like for you - in terms of if you want a leadership role. I'm very fluid about hands-on work vs. leading others.

  • What experience do you have with XYZ that you think makes you stand out compared to other candidates? Please look through my resume (link above.)... And if you still have a very specific question, contact me. My resume is long and detailed exactly to provide such answers.

  • What is the reason for you leaving your last role? I was laid off

  • Are you working now? Not Currently

  • Are you actively interviewing for other roles? No

  • Is a company's mission important to you in your search for a position? Most definitely!

If there's any lingering question, please email me (kathryn@goddardk.com) or message me on LinkedIn.

Please NO UNSOLICITED CALLS! I DON'T ANSWER UNEXPECTED CALLS, EVER, nor check voice mail from unknown numbers!

Thanks and regards,
Kathryn Goddard
